INTRODUCTION TO THE APPLICATION OF COGNITIVE ANALYTIC THERAPY

Susan Mitzman is a consultant clinical psychologist and an ACAT accredited, therapist, trainer and supervisor. Susan currently works as a clinician at Ashworth High Secure Services and is also a member of the clinical psychology doctoral training programme at Liverpool University. She has experience of developing Cognitive Analytical Therapy services across a range of specialties e.g. Drug and Alcohol, HIV/GUM, adult mental health, eating disorders and forensic practice. Susan will present a practical introduction to the theory and practice of CAT.

METACOGNITIVE THERAPY FOR DEPRESSION AND OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER

A 1-Day Workshop, by Popular Demand
In this workshop, the metacognitive models and treatments of Depression and OCD will be described in detail. Participants will have the opportunity to develop assessment and case formulation skills as well as a range of metacognitively focused treatment strategies for each disorder. Illustrative clinical examples will be used throughout the workshop and participarnts are encouraged to bring their own case material for discussion. The workshop will involve didactic presentation, video demonstrations and role plays to facilitate the development of MCT skills for Depression and OCD.
